Frequently asked questions
How SurgeU Monitor collects, scores and reports search, AI-answer and reputation data.
What does SurgeU Monitor track?
It tracks where a brand appears across Google search results, AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity), review platforms, news, legal records and YouTube, and records each observation with its exact wording, link and date.
How is the overall reputation score calculated?
The overall score is a weighted average of five component scores, rounded to a whole number: Search & answer visibility 25%, Accuracy & completeness 20%, Citation & source strength 20%, Review & public sentiment 20%, and Risk & momentum 15%. Higher is better on every component. Issue response readiness is tracked as a separate KPI and is not part of the overall score.
What do the 0–100 component scores mean?
100 means the brand is the primary result, the answer is fully accurate and current, and it is supported by official and multiple authoritative independent sources. 0 means the brand is absent where a mention is expected, the information is false or materially harmful, or there is no citation or an unverifiable one.
What do the severity levels mean?
Urgent: likely material harm or a rapidly spreading claim — immediate response. High: a credible, visible, recurring issue — owner assigned within one business day. Medium: a correctable inaccuracy or isolated criticism — three business days. Low: a minor or routine observation — next weekly review.
Which AI engines are checked?
ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google) and Perplexity, using each provider's API with the same question set. API answers can differ from the consumer websites, so manual website checks can be recorded separately.
Why does an AI answer show zero sources?
A source count of 0 means no live web retrieval took place for that answer — not that citation quality was poor. Answers without web search reflect model knowledge and may be outdated.
Do YouTube view counts mean people agree with a video?
No. Views measure exposure, not agreement. Neither views nor sentiment establish whether a claim is true. View growth is only measured from the date a video was first tracked.
Who approves public responses?
A person. Human approval is required before publishing, contacting a reviewer, or changing a public claim.
How often are questions checked?
Immediate-risk questions (scam, legitimacy, complaints, refunds, legal or regulatory issues, news) daily; active-visibility questions (brand identity, leadership, reviews, pricing, programs) three times a week; strategic questions (outcomes, policies, competitors, comparisons) weekly.
